Hamas attack in Israel with over 1200 killed/ EU suspends payments to Palestinians

The EU has decided to immediately suspend payments intended for the Palestinian population pending the review of aid programs already implemented for a total of 691 million euros.

This was announced by the commissioner for enlargement of the EU, Oliver Varhelyi.

He said that now things cannot be like before.

"The scale of terror and brutality against Israel and its people is a turning point. Things cannot go back to the way they used to be," he stressed.

More than 700 people have reportedly been killed in Israel since Saturday, including 260 people massacred by Hamas gunmen at a music festival.

Dozens of people were kidnapped and Hamas claims four of the hostages were killed in airstrikes in Gaza.
