Two new explosions have been heard in Riyadh's diplomatic area, an area that houses numerous foreign missions, according to two sources cited by international media.

Earlier, the Saudi Ministry of Defense announced that two drones hit the US Embassy in Riyadh, causing material damage. Saudi authorities said the situation was under control and that the circumstances of the attack were being investigated.

The US embassy issued a security alert, urging US citizens in the country to immediately shelter in place and avoid unnecessary travel. Non-essential travel to military installations in the region has also been restricted.

Meanwhile, former US President Donald Trump told NewsNation that the United States will respond to the attack on the embassy in Riyadh and the deaths of American military personnel during the conflict with Iran.

According to journalist Kellie Meyer, who quoted the statement on the social network X, Trump said that "you will soon learn what the retaliation will be," adding that he does not think sending ground troops will be necessary.
