Nearly 100,000 "Volkswagen" workers joined the strike

A one-day strike at almost all of German giant Volkswagen's factories in Germany ended on Tuesday morning, with the workers' union saying nearly 100,000 workers had joined the protest.

The strike has been called by the union to protest against warnings of wage cuts, factory closures and job cuts at Volkswagen, Europe's biggest carmaker.

The heads of the company, on the other hand, have reiterated that cost reductions are necessary, so that the company remains competitive in the market, to increase profits, and then invest them in the vehicles of the future, including electric ones.

"Volkswagen" has faced a drop in demand and a great increase in international competition, especially from the Chinese markets.

The German giant has had difficulty launching and advertising electric car models.

Leaders of the workers' union have said that this is the first warning against the tough plans of the company's management and that if the demands are not taken into account, there will be protests again throughout the winter./ Rel
