US-Israeli attacks hit Iranian psychiatric hospital

US-Israeli bombings of Iran have hit a factory producing cancer drugs and a psychiatric hospital in recent days, according to state-backed media, as aid agencies raise the alarm over attacks on health facilities.

One of the largest producers of anti-cancer drugs and anesthetics in Iran was hit on Tuesday, the state-run Islamic Republic of Iran Television (IRIB) reported.

Earlier this week, the newly built Delaram Sina Psychiatric Hospital in Tehran was severely damaged in an attack in the Iranian capital, according to the state-run Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA). About 30 patients were in the hospital at the time of the attack late Monday, the hospital director told IRNA.

"The doors and windows were broken, and the walls of the building were also damaged," the doctor said.

The US-Israeli attack on Iran has destroyed entire neighborhoods, killed hundreds of people and crippled key services. At least 190 health and medical facilities have been hit since the war began on February 28, according to Iran's deputy health minister.

An official from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Iran said 17 of the agency's centres had been hit and nearly 100 ambulances had been damaged or destroyed. "These are not just vehicles. They are often the only hope people have when bombs fall," said Maria Martinez, head of the IFRC delegation in Iran./CNA, translated by The Guardian
