Second day of testimony in The Hague/ Rubin: I don't remember all the names

On the second day of his testimony at the Special Court, James Rubin answered questions from the Prosecution regarding a document stating that Adem Demaçi described Hashim Thaçi as a spokesman for the KLA.

Rubin said he had no information about these minor differences within the KLA.

Asked if he had met Jakup Krasniqi during the war, Rubin said that he did not think so, while adding that he did not remember whether Jakup Krasniqi and Kadri Veseli were part of the Albanian delegation in Rambouillet.

" I don't remember all the names, because this happened 25 years ago," Rubin said .

He has been summoned by Hashim Thaçi's defense and is being questioned by the Prosecution.

Rubin's testimony is expected to conclude today.

What are Thaçi, Veseli, Krasniqi and Selimi accused of?

The indictment charges them with illegal detention, torture, murder, crimes against humanity, enforced disappearances and persecution of hundreds of civilians and persons who did not participate in the fighting.

These crimes allegedly occurred between March 1998 and September 1999 in various locations in Kosovo, as well as in northern Albania.

According to the indictment, the victims included persons suspected of being against the KLA and later the provisional government of Kosovo, members of the Serbian, Roma and Ashkali communities, Catholics, civilians suspected of collaborating with Serbian authorities, as well as Albanians who supported other parties or did not join the KLA.

The Specialist Chambers emphasize that Thaçi, Veseli, Krasniqi and Selimi bear personal criminal responsibility for these crimes.

All four defendants deny guilt.
