A serious incident has caused shock in neighboring Greece, as it was reported that a 5-year-old child was attacked by a wolf on Marmara Beach, near Halkidiki.

Greek media reports that the little girl was allegedly playing carelessly on the beach when, a few minutes before 8 a.m., the wild animal attacked her from behind. As the child's mother reported, the wolf bit and scratched her on the back, while thanks to the immediate intervention of the mother and a man who attacked the wild animal with stones, the animal fled and the child was saved.

The little girl was initially taken to the local Health Center and then, as a precaution, was taken to Poligjiro Hospital, where she received first aid, without risking her health.

The existence of wolves and jackals in the area was also confirmed by the press representative of the Environmental Organization for Wildlife and Nature, who admitted that there are wolves and jackals present in the area.

The organization called on residents to be informed about how they can protect themselves, but also to ensure that wild animals remain outside of residential areas./ CNA
