Law enforcement authorities are conducting an operation in the municipality of Malisheva as part of an investigation into suspected vote manipulation in the December 28 snap parliamentary elections, an official told Radio Free Europe (RFE/RL) on Wednesday.
The spokesperson for the Basic Prosecution Office in Gjakova, Drin Domi, told REL that suspects are being questioned regarding suspicions that they had falsified votes within political parties of candidates for deputies of the Kosovo Assembly.
Domi did not say how many suspects are being questioned nor did he provide other details about the operation, saying it is ongoing.
"For now, that's all I can say. We will announce more details this afternoon," said Domi.
The operation in Malisheva – a municipality in the central part of the country – is the second of its kind as part of a wider investigation into vote manipulation in Kosovo's recent snap elections./ REL
