Greenland's complaint to the US?/ Prime Minister Nielsen responds to President Trump

Greenland's Prime Minister Jens Frederik Nielsen has hit back at repeated threats from US President Donald Trump to annex the autonomous Danish territory.

 Nielsen firmly rejected US President Donald Trump's repeated comments on the possibility of the US annexing Greenland, calling for dialogue and respect for international law.

"Enough now. Enough with the pressure. Enough with the insinuations. Enough with the annexation fantasy. We are open to dialogue. We are open to discussions. But this must happen through the proper channels and with respect for international law," Nielsen wrote on Facebook. 

Washington's unprecedented operation in Venezuela that resulted in the capture of Nicolas Maduro has revived fears about Greenland, which Trump has said he wants to annex, given its strategic location in the Arctic./CNA
