Aggression in Ukraine/ Von der Leyen: The agreement on Russian crimes is signed in The Hague

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Layen, has announced that an agreement has been signed for the establishment of the International Center for the Pursuit of the Crime of Aggression in The Hague .

She said Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine has caused untold suffering and the West must do everything it can to bring the perpetrators to justice.

She described witnessing atrocities committed by Russian forces in Bucha, an area where mass graves, dead bodies with hands tied behind their backs and evidence of torture were found after Moscow's troops withdrew.

"There is growing evidence of direct attacks against civilians as well as energy and infrastructure," von der Leyen said.

"Torture, ill-treatment, sexual violence and summary executions are known to have been carried out by Russian forces, even children are not being spared," she added./ CNA.al
