This morning, a 12-year-old shot and wounded three classmates in the Finnish town of Wanda.

Finnish media reports that at the moment the authorities will not comment further on how the bloody incident happened, or how the 12-year-old got the gun.

The police also do not provide other details, but it is learned that the injured have been sent to the hospital.

The school where the serious incident took place has about 800 students.

Earlier, the police had asked passers-by not to approach the area, and residents to stay inside and not open the door to strangers.

An eyewitness told the media that he was working nearby. According to him, a shot was heard shortly after 09:00.

"I couldn't make the connection with a shot. Then there was a terrible scream and several children ran into the yard. It took a minute or two for several police cars and an ambulance to enter the yard," the witness said./ CNA
