Manchester terror attack: 3 dead after stabbing at synagogue

A terrorist attack occurred this Thursday at a synagogue in Manchester, Great Britain.

A loud explosion was heard around 2:30 p.m. A bomb disposal unit was later called to the scene.

Three people have died following the incident, including the suspected perpetrator. Greater Manchester Police confirmed that three other people remain in a serious condition.

Meanwhile, Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham has thanked Greater Manchester Police and synagogue security for their response, and described the risks of further harm to the public as reduced but not eliminated.

The incident occurs on Yom Kippur, a major holy day in the Jewish calendar, and Keir Starmer has stated that additional police assets will be deployed to synagogues across the country.

The Prime Minister is cutting short his trip to Denmark to chair an emergency COBRA meeting and has said he is appalled by the attack and that his thoughts are with the loved ones of all those affected by the event./CNA
