One month after the closing of the procedure, "Water supply of coastal areas, Draleos Drimadhes and Dhërmi Strategic Investment Zones First Phase", the National Water and Sewerage Agency has opened the next procedure on the supervision of this contract.

The first procedure opened earlier at the end of October and closed at the end of November with a limit fund of 7 million euros is in the evaluation phase, while the closing date for supervision is calculated as January 3, 2024, while the limit fund is 5.9 million ALL.

The project in this region aims to supply water to some tourist complexes which have previously received the status of strategic investment. This is the argument given in the documents accompanying the procedure.

"The request is to provide a quantity of not less than 290 l/se which will be used for the water supply of the new tourist complexes in the village of Palos through a new water supply system. The amount of 290 l/s is predicted for the peak of tourists during the hot season of the year where, in addition to an amount of 150 l/s per inhabitant, there is a need for a much larger amount of water. This amount consists in the overpopulation of the area, especially along the coastline. A tourist normally takes 30% more water than usual. If we also add the amount of water for the needs of public tourist services, the expectation for the expansion or construction of other tourist complexes, then the rate per tourist goes over 250 l/s; thus the necessary and required amount of 290 l/s is argued. We also take into account the losses in the network calculated at no less than 20-30%", it is stated in the technical-hydrological report of the project.

The document underlines that there is a need for intervention in the source of "Izvor" to ensure the amount of 290 l/s. Therefore, it is stated that for this purpose, the construction of a new catchment is needed in the southern part of the collection channel of the source's effluents.

"The new catchment will collect the water in the place suggested by us with the corresponding coordinates, on the left side of the main channel flow. This water show has its origin, like the spring itself, in the hydraulic head of the drainage area, from the mountainous part to the east of the village of Tragjas. As a drainage channel for the water coming from above, this flow, which takes the name of Tragjas Stream, is used in the report.
