Although with economic uncertainty and changes in consumer behavior, the holidays often serve as a period when Albanians are willing to spend more.
In addition to the usual shopping traditions, such as festive clothing, decorations and special foods, there has also been an increase in interest in special products and limited offers. This includes high demands for purchasing technological devices such as smart TVs or new mobile phones, as well as limited products that bring a unique and exclusive feeling to the holidays: such as artificial or natural trees and accompanying decorations.
However, this has not been a panorama for all layers of society. Inflation and the increase in the cost of living have affected the festive expenses of Albanians. In some cases, this has led to adjustments in consumer behavior, making them more selective in choosing products and more careful in managing their festive budget. Families with below average income are limited in the necessary food products.
According to an observation, the favorite products during the end of the year holidays were:
– Festive clothing and accessories: Albanians have continued to prefer buying festive clothing and accessories to celebrate this period. This includes special New Year clothes, not forgetting the decor accessories. From the "Bel Eve" atelier, they claim that they requested special clothes specially designed for this occasion, including bright colors and symbolic motifs. A customized t-shirt starts at 1500 Lek. Requests have been more concentrated for children, due to festive engagements in kindergartens and schools. As for decorations, from "Nova Home" they claim that this year there has been a boom in sales of artificial and natural fir trees, the cost of which starts at 8,000 ALL. And other complementary decorations have been in demand.
- Food and Drinks: At this time of the year, Albanian consumers have shown a special interest in festive food and drinks. Including here traditional sweets, meat and imported drinks. According to information received from "Big Market", sales in the last week of December were mainly focused on drinks and dairy products. While the confectioner "Sultan Baklava" informs that the orders of baklavas have been high, the cost of which was on average 1500 ALL/kg
– Electronics: An increase in purchases of electronic products and smart devices is observed during the holiday season. This includes buying new phones, smart home appliances, and other technology products. From "Neptune" it is reported that the requests have been mainly focused on smart TVs, the offers of which have varied towards the costs of 50,000 ALL.
-Also, photographic services have been in demand. With the increased use of social media and the desire to document every important moment, there has been a high demand for professional photography services. According to the "Amarildo Thomaj Photography" studio, they mainly requested photographs organized in the studio due to the lower temperatures, but also in special holiday settings. the cost for these services starts at 10,000 lek./Monitor
