US Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Western Balkans, Alexander Kasanof

The US Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Western Balkans, Alexander Kasanof, spoke with superlatives about the Special Prosecutor's Office during his speech at the SPAK 5th anniversary event in Tirana.

Kasanof expressed support for the work of SPAK, in the fight to strike impunity at high levels of politics.

He stated that the work of SPAK is inspiring, as it is giving the message that no one is above the law.

"The results of your work have an effect on society, forcing politicians and officials to think twice about their decisions and thoughts.

This process takes time and patience. It is critical for citizens to know that the government will treat them impartially, to feel confident that they are on the right side of the law and Albania on the right side of history.

I would like to appreciate the leadership of the government and the prime minister who has progressed in reforms. SPAK has an indispensable role in the fight against corruption.

Arrests, criminal proceedings, made those who were untouchable speak a lot. Your work is very inspiring. No one is above the law. SPAK holds itself accountable", stressed Kasanof./ CNA
