A huge fire engulfed the pine trees in Laç at noon on Tuesday, August 22. The flames spread quickly and covered a large area.
Thick clouds of smoke covered the entire area.
Over 50 personnel of the Armed Forces, four fire engines and a Cougar helicopter were made available to neutralize the flames.
The church of Saint Anthony in Laç was also in danger of being engulfed by the flames, but it was already possible to isolate it. There are only a few small fireplaces.
The police arrested the suspected arsonist, 41-year-old VH, who intended to burn some garbage, but the flames quickly spread over a large area.
