Electoral campaign/Rrumbullaku reveals the figures: 54 criminal offenses were

The general director of the State Police Muhamed RrumbUllaku has stated that so far 54 cases of electoral crimes have been recorded during the electoral campaign.

Rrumbullaku has emphasized that special investigative groups have been set up for election crimes.

Among other things, Rrumbullaku has called on citizens to report any case of violation of the vote.

"The electoral process is important for the citizens and for the country and as a result, the State Police is fully committed to the implementation of legal obligations for the smooth running of this process.

In implementation of the obligations derived from the law "On the State Police", the Electoral Code, the decisions and instructions issued by the Central Election Commission, the State Police has undertaken a series of measures aimed at guaranteeing public order and security during the electoral process. , as well as for the prevention, identification and attack of electoral crimes.

As part of the measures taken during the electoral campaign, a maximum of 5081 police officers were engaged by the State Police structures, for the smooth running of 1471 electoral activities, and in no electoral activity, held in open and closed premises, was there any evidence of incident that violates the process.

(Measures undertaken for the smooth running of the election process were presented in detail, during today's morning, at the media conference, by the Director of the Department for Public Order and Security, in the State Police.)

Pursuant to the Criminal Code, in close cooperation with the procedural bodies of general and special jurisdiction, the State Police has set up special investigative groups for the legal evidence and documentation of any illegal activity in the field of electoral crimes, defined by articles 325-330 of the Criminal Code.

In this framework, during the election period, the special investigation structures of the State Police, in cooperation with the respective prosecutors, have evaluated and analyzed every information, indication, report or statement of every citizen, representative of the electoral subjects or candidate, with the aim of clarifying circumstances, securing evidence and bringing the perpetrators to justice.

From the statistical data it appears that:

From 14.04.2023 to 12.05.2023, a total of 54 cases of criminal offenses in the field of election crimes were recorded, for which a total of 88 citizens were criminally prosecuted.

Separated by criminal offences:

1-Giving rewards and promises, 25 cases with 45 perpetrators;

2-Using public office for political or electoral activity, 1 case with 1 author;

3-Passive corruption in elections, 20 cases with 25 perpetrators;

4-Kanosja apo dhunimi ndaj pjesëmarrësve në zgjedhje, 2 raste me 3 autorë;

5-Pengimi i zgjedhësit, 3 raste me 7 autorë;

6-Shkelja e të drejtës së zgjedhjes, 3 raste me 7 autorë.

Për veprat penale të sipërcituara, grupet e posaçme hetimore kanë vepruar në përputhje të plotë me ligjin dhe me autorizimet e organeve proceduese, si dhe vijojnë hetimet e thelluara për dokumentimin e plotë ligjor të këtyre rasteve.

Tashmë kemi mbërritur në fazën finale të këtij procesi, dhe detyrat dhe angazhimi i Policisë së Shtetit janë më të shtuara, me qëllim që të garantohet rendi dhe siguria publike, si dhe që çdo qytetar i Republikës së Shqipërisë të ushtrojë qetësisht dhe i sigurtë, të drejtën kushtetuese për të votuar.
