The Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, presented today some measures taken by the government for exporters, who were affected by the increase in expenses as a result of the devaluation of the euro.

The minister said that exporters will benefit from relief, as a measure of support for the negative effects caused by the weakening of the euro against the lek.

Ibrahimaj declared that he will freeze the payment of the profit tax and the VAT refund will be made within three days.

"We just concluded the third dialogue meeting of exporting associations. Based on the concerns that these exporters had regarding the appreciation of the local currency and the devaluation of the euro currency. We, as the Minister of Finance and Economy, have analyzed this concern. Since the euro has depreciated, exporters have been at a loss. We have decided that the Ministry of Finance and Economy will strengthen the advance payment of profit tax installments of all expert companies that export more than 70% of their turnover and production.

We have received a normative act that will be approved very soon. This will be done in order for these companies not to pay profit tax installments, creating an opportunity to increase liquidity for these exporters. We will take measures so that the refund of VAT received from exporters at the tax administration, which based on the decisions and instructions of the Ministry of Finance must be given within a 30-day period, that is, it will be given with a very short period within 3 days from the submission of the request and documentation.
