Indri Hoxha's full statement

Edi Rama, Erion Veliaj and the Rilindza government, frightened by the defeat in Vora and throughout Central Albania, are trying to buy and intimidate the voters. The outgoing mayor, a person who represents the gangs of Vora, after using the administration of the municipality of Vora to threaten citizens, as he is blackmailing and threatening families affected by the earthquake in exchange for votes, has brought his family members out into the street, who are threatening businesses in Vora municipality.

We have data and evidence that his family members are behaving like criminal gangs, blackmailing businesses that make a living with hard work and sweat. After four years in Vora they did nothing to help businesses and are bringing them to the brink of bankruptcy, now they are threatening to close them down just for their political interests.

I call on the mayor, the representative of crime in Vora, to immediately stop this behavior of the bandit and to withdraw his family members from these actions which constitute criminal offenses and for which I assure them that they will bear legal responsibility.

We have identified every person, every vehicle and every license plate of a car that was rented only to carry out criminal activities in order to manipulate and deform the political will of the citizens of Vora.

It calls on international institutions, OSCE-ODIHR, the Embassy of the United States, and the diplomatic headquarters in Albania to closely monitor the conduct of the elections in Vorë. We call on them to increase the number of observers in this municipality, as electoral crimes are being committed there by people with criminal records.

Corruption money, which has bankrupted that municipality, drug and crime money is being used to buy votes, threaten people and manipulate the electoral result.
Also, I call on the general director of the police to observe and take measures to prevent the criminal activities that are being carried out during the day in Vorë. This is a legal obligation that the state police has in relation to the citizens of Vora. Otherwise, they will be considered accomplices in crime.

I call on the citizens of Vora to vote en masse on May 14. Come out and vote to put an end to crime and corruption in Vorë and to start a new local government that focuses on the citizens and not the interests of crime.

I assure them that each of their votes will be protected, each of their votes will be counted. We have taken all measures to guarantee their will. The will of the people of Vora for change will not be hindered by any threat, by any blackmail and by any power with the money of corruption.
I am convinced that in Vora, with the will of its citizens, we will reap a spectacular victory./ CNA.al
