The local police department of Vlora in a statement to the media has given details of the arrest of Fredi Beleri and the citizen PK

According to the investigations, these citizens were involved in buying and selling votes. They offered money to citizens in exchange for votes.

After conducting the investigations, AB and PK were arrested. The investigations continue.

On 08.05.2023, the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Vlorë registered criminal proceedings no. 489, on the basis of the referral made by the Vlora Local Police Directorate, for the criminal offense "Active corruption in elections".

From the acts administered so far in the function of the investigation for this criminal proceeding, from the investigative structures of the Local Police Directorate of Vlora, information regarding some suspected citizens involved in the activity of illegal vote-buying, for the local elections of May 14, 2023, in the city of Himara and in the villages that are part of the municipality of Himara, by offering various citizens certain sums of money in return for voting for one of the candidates competitive.

After the registration of the criminal proceedings, the prosecutor is authorized to carry out a series of procedural actions in the field, through the use of special investigation methods, in order to ascertain the criminal fact for which this criminal proceeding was registered.

After carrying out a series of actions by the structures of the Local Directorate of the Vlora Police, in cooperation with the Directorate of the Special Operational Force in the General Directorate of the State Police, at the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Vlora, based on the collected facts during the investigation and in the evidence obtained in the dynamics, by using special investigation methods, within the coded police operation "Matrix", the arrest of citizens was made in flagrante delicto:

Dh. B. alias AB, 51 years old, and PK, 44 years old, for the criminal offense "Active corruption in elections", carried out in collaboration, provided for by Article 328, 25 of the Criminal Code.

A monetary sum of 40,000 new alleks was seized as material evidence.
