Xhaçka responds to Athens for Beler's arrest statements/ Do not

The Foreign Minister, Olta Xhaçka, has reacted after the statements of the Greek Prime Minister Kuriakos Mitsotakis about the arrest of the candidate of the "Together We Win" coalition, Fredi Beleri.

Xhaçka, through a status on "Twitter", has asked the Greek side to closely monitor the development and progress of this case, calling on them to let the Albanian justice system carry out its work without pressure and divisive messages.

" Vote buying is a serious violation in our legislation, and all law enforcement institutions prioritize fighting it during elections. This applies to all citizens of the Republic of Albania, including the brothers and sisters of the Greek minority who participate in our elections.

The candidacy of the Albanian citizen, Alfred Beleri, who is running for election from his fellow citizens, does not require any special treatment. He is equal before the law like anyone else. It is up to prosecutors and judges to handle this case according to the evidence.

With respect, we ask our Greek friends in Athens to closely and patiently monitor the development of the case, allowing the Albanian judiciary to carry out its work, without external pressure or divisive messages.
