"Communist star, criminal offense"/ Former head of the Association of the Persecuted: "Rock" cannot be made with the blood of Albanians

Nebil Çika, former chairman of the Politically Persecuted Association, said that the appearance of the communist star on the national flag at the Sunny Hill festival was desecration of the flag.

In an interview for Euronews Albania, he said that desecration of the flag is prohibited by law and as such is a criminal offense.

In a confrontation with the leader of the group 'Nothing like the sun', in whose clip the flag with the communist star appears, Çika described it as one of the dirtiest criminal shows that have been made in the 30 years after communism.

"Communist symbols cannot be placed on the national flag. Only unity does not have that flag, 5 thousand Kosovars were massacred with that flag. For us, the Star-Spangled Banner was like the Serbian flag for you. You can't make rock n roll with our blood, make it wherever you want, not here", Çika told the singer Alban Nimani.

The 'Sunny Hill' festival has been placed in the center of attention, after yesterday evening on its final night, the flag with the communist star appeared.

The mayor of Tirana also reacted to this, clarifying that the display of the star-spangled flag at the "Sunny Hill" festival is part of an artistic performance by the rock group "Asgjë Sikur Dielli".
