The Speaker of the Parliament, Niko Peleshi, has reacted to the murder of Judge Astrit Kalaja inside the courtroom at the Court of Appeals in Tirana.
Through a publication on social networks, Peleshi writes that the event is tragic.
Peleshi has called for the strictest legal punishment for the murder.
"The murder of Court of Appeal judge Astrit Kalaja on court premises is a tragic and completely unacceptable event in a state governed by the rule of law.
This crime that took the life of Judge Astrit Kalaja in the line of duty is also a crime against the institutions of justice and the authority of the state, and therefore deserves the strictest punishment under the law.
"My deepest condolences to the family of Judge Kalaja, his colleagues and the entire justice system for this grave loss," Peleshi wrote. /CNA
