Murder of police officer in Maliq/Hita: If DVP Korça had asked for help, stronger measures would have been taken

The Head of the State Police, Skënder Hita, has landed in Korça after the serious incident in Maliq, where Officer Enea Mekolli was killed and Officer Edison Adri was injured. 

During a media conference, when asked if stronger measures had been taken, would the serious incident have been avoided, Hita stated that the operation and operational measures in this case belonged solely to the Korça DVP and if assistance had been requested, stronger measures would have been taken.

"At the time the operation was carried out, I was not aware of it. The measures for the operation are operational and belong only to the Korça DVP. If they had requested assistance, even stronger measures would have been taken," said Hita./ CNA
