The EU ambassador in Tirana, Silvio Gonzato, spoke about the vetting process in Albania.

Gonzato said that this process was difficult, but he described it as an achievement and a great job.

According to him, the vetting in justice has brought Albania closer to EU membership.

However, the ambassador stated that the Judiciary must be independent and accountable, so that every citizen has access to justice.

"This has not been an easy process. The professionalism you showed on this trip allows me to congratulate the commissioners for their contribution to ensure the independence of the justice system to restore public confidence in the justice institutions. What you have done so far is one of several things and you have made a great contribution to the hatching of the first group of chapters. The work that has been done so far must not be lost and the independence of the institutions must be preserved.

KLGJ and KLP must provide concrete evidence and maintain the standards of vetting bodies. Another aspect we have referred to is the importance of vetting institutions that must refer cases to the prosecution and SPAK. In conclusion, I think that what you have done in these 7 years is an achievement and a great job, and it has brought Albania closer to the EU and membership.
