The chairman of the DP appeal commission, Adriana Kalaja, filed a complaint with the SPAK against the former director of the Tirana Municipal Police, Ermal Kapllanaj, for non-declaration and concealment of assets.

The report of Kala comes after the denunciations that Ermal Kapllanaj, the former chief police officer of Erion Veliaj, has not declared his assets for 7 years.

Also, according to Kala, the father-in-law of Ermal Kapllanaj has entered with 33% of the shares in one of the most powerful supermarkets in the country.

"According to the denunciations that have reached us in PD, the former head of the municipal police for a period of 7 years, who has been in charge of the municipal police, has refused to declare the wealth, even of persons related to him, but above all, according to these same denunciations, the father-in-law of Ermal Kapllanaj has entered with 33% in 2020 in one of the most powerful supermarkets operating in the country. We have raised reasonable suspicions that we are dealing with abuse of office, passive corruption and laundering of criminal proceeds, that it does not appear to us that the father-in-law had such wealth that he bought 33% of the market network," said Kalaja./ CNA
