Job vacancies in 2025/ Most sought-after elementary professions

The labor market in our country showed growing needs for labor in all major sectors of the economy.

According to data administered by the National Employment and Skills Agency (NESA), a total of 68,860 job vacancies were announced in Employment Offices during the period January-December 2025. This number marked an increase of 12% compared to the same period a year earlier, demonstrating an increased demand from businesses for staff.

In terms of occupational categories, the data shows that the market has had the greatest need for elementary occupations, which are in demand in 29.9% of cases. This category is followed by craftsmen and related occupations, which account for 23.7%, sales and service workers with 15.9%, and industrial workers with 10.5%.

Regarding professions requiring higher levels of qualification and specialized skills, the data administered by AKPA for 2025 show a more modest demand compared to elementary professions. These positions often require academic education or specific technical training, and their weight in the labor market during this period was as follows: The category “Highly educated specialists” represents only 6.4% of the advertised vacancies, requiring individuals with a university education for roles usually related to analysis, project management or specialized technical tasks.

Technicians and mid-level specialists, who often serve as bridges between management and practical implementation, account for 5.3% of total job vacancies.

The 2025 developments confirm a structure of labor demand that favors roles requiring basic and craft skills, thus dictating employment strategies for the coming year.

During 2025, it turns out that 9,690 unique entities have chosen to advertise their needs for employees at the Employment Offices. The regions of Tirana, Durrës and Vlora together hold the main weight, advertising around 60% of the vacancies, while on the other side of the spectrum, the regions of Kukës, Dibra and Berat record the lowest number of advertisements.

The analysis of economic sectors shows that the manufacturing industry tops the list as the sector with the highest demand, accounting for 25.5% of the total number of vacancies advertised. It is followed by the accommodation and food service sector with 17.7%, wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles with 14.7%, other service activities with 12.1% and the construction sector with 10.6%.

Compared to a year ago, there is a significant fluctuation in these requests, with the manufacturing sector experiencing a decrease of around 3% of advertised positions, while the construction sector has recorded an increase of 2%, thus reflecting changes in labor market dynamics. /Monitor
