"Hostile countries"/ Russia blacklists, except for Albania and Greece

Russia has added Croatia, Denmark, Greece, Slovakia and Slovenia to the list of countries "taking unfriendly actions against Russian companies and citizens".

In a statement issued by the Russian Government, it is stated that Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed this order on July 22.

According to the announcement of the Government, the embassies of the countries mentioned in this order must now reduce the number of staff members.

"Greece cannot have more than 34 staff members, Denmark 20, Slovakia 16. Slovenia and Croatia will not be allowed to employ Russian citizens in diplomatic missions and consulates," the announcement said.

In March, just days after Russia launched its unprovoked invasion of Ukraine that was condemned by the West, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the creation of a list of "unfriendly states".

This list also includes the United States, Canada, Britain, Ukraine, Australia, Singapore, Japan, New Zealand, Taiwan, Micronesia, Montenegro, Albania, Switzerland, Andorra, South Korea, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway , San Marino, Czech Republic and North Macedonia./REL
