Stolen in 2015 from the Conservatory of Parma in Italy, an antique piano which was brought to Albania with the hope of selling it, has been handed over to the Italian authorities today.

The 18th century 'Clavikorda', part of Italian heritage, was found in a musical instrument shop in Albania.

It was delivered today to the Ministry of Justice, from the Ministry of Culture to the commander of the Carabinieri for cultural heritage.

The Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, during a statement to the media, said that the delivery of the piano is a sign of serious cooperation with a friendly country that is Italy.

‘Është një shenjë e bashkëpunimit serioz me një vend mik që është Italia. Ne duam ta shtrijmë këtë bashkëpunim në të ardhmen pse jo për të bërë të mundur riatdhesimin reciprok të të gjitha veprave të trashëgimisë kulturore. Këto vepra të shkojnë aty ku ishin sepse janë pronë e popullit italian. Janë tregues i qartë i identitetit tonë kombëtar.’- tha Manja.

Ndërsa Ministrja e Kulturës, Elva Margariti, tha se lufta kundër trafikimit të objekteve të kulturës është prioritet.

"A very symbolic ceremony. Not that it is a small act but it has the symbolism of a collaboration over the centuries. We are here today connected through the cultural heritage, which does not belong only to Italy but to the whole world. It is important that we appreciate here today the all the work that has been done. We have a priority in the ministry, which is the fight against the trafficking of cultural objects. Italy is a strategic partner for us ," she said.
