The affair of the century, as the incinerator affair has been called, continues to be investigated by SPAK and prosecutor Dritan Prençi.

A voluminous file has been taken to the court about the security measures, but the investigations continue to be deepened.

After the question of shareholders such as the boilermaker Guiseppe Ciaffaglione or the shareholder Alberto Presezzi, who for the first time gave the term dormant shareholders, i.e. to secure financing, which showed that Mirel Mërtiri, Klodian Zoto and the people hidden behind the company in the Netherlands, did not have the lek to finance the concession that they had signed, that is, they had deceived the Albanian government.

Other documents have already arrived from Italy.

CNA has learned from official sources that SPAK was able to secure dozens of documents of Italian companies related to the non-existent Tirana incinerator company, where Mirel Mërtiri and Klodian Zoto were its main people, who in cooperation with officials of the top of the Albanian state, including Minister Lefter Koka, officials of the Municipality of Tirana and others, for about 6-7 years provided about 130 million euros from the state budget and private business income, for an incinerator that does not exist, for a concession contract, which lasted up to 30 years with about 128 million euros of investment and about 400-500 million more euros of income from private business.

CNA has learned from official sources that the documents provided by Italy are quite important to unravel the scheme of the incinerator affair.

All the official documents published in connection with various communications between the shareholders or the suspicions that the new shareholders had carried out commercial activity with Iran and so on have also been proven.

All the materials already in a rather voluminous file are expected to further deepen the investigations by bringing to light the persons involved, the high officials, their collaborators and even the people of the Municipality of Tirana, the directors of Erion Veliajt and the role of the mayor of Tirana in this affair, who often denies it and says that I am just a customer at the door, but on the other hand his officials have signed off on the land affair, given orders, negotiated and so on./ CNA
