They tried to leave Albania with guns and cannabis/ 2 Frenchmen were handcuffed

Two French citizens have been handcuffed by the police after trying to leave Albania with a camper vehicle, where they had hidden a sports weapon and a quantity of cannabis.

This was achieved thanks to the police operation coded "Exit" where, at the exit of the Republic of Albania, it was found that in the camper vehicle, driven by the French citizen SM and where the French citizen CM was a passenger, a space was adapted to hide a sports weapon and a quantity of the suspected narcotic substance cannabis sativa.

The arrested are citizens from France, SM, 25 years old and CM, 28 years old, both residents of France. Also, the sports weapon and the quantity of the narcotic substance cannabis sativa were seized as material evidence.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the Durrës General Jurisdiction, for further actions, for the criminal offenses "Trafficking of weapons and ammunition" and "Production and sale of narcotics"./ CNA
