SPAK launches an investigation into the tracing of Saimir Tahir's assets

For the former Minister of the Interior, Saimir Tahiri, the Special Prosecutor's Office is collecting data inside and outside the country to trace his assets and see if there are any hiding or elements of laundering the proceeds of the criminal offense.

The final decision on the sentence of 3 years and 4 months for "abuse of duty" against Tahir was given on February 4, 2022.

Meanwhile, 1 year and 4 months later, the former Minister of the Interior was released from prison after two forensic examinations that explained why he could no longer remain behind bars for the remainder of his sentence.

We remind you that in February 2022, the Appeal Court Against Organized Crime and Corruption sentenced the former Minister of the Interior to 5 years in prison for 'Abuse of duty'.
