The Minister of Education and Sports Ogerta Manastirliu, at the start of the new academic year, in the ceremony held with students and lecturers of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Tirana, said that a new policy document will be drawn up to move faster with internationalization.

"The Ministry of Education together with the universities will draw up a new policy document to move faster with the internationalization and profiling of the universities, to make the university academic offer as attractive and competitive as possible".

Manastirliu also spoke about supporting students through scholarships for priority programs, to respond to the demands of the time.

"We want to support with defined quotas those programs which they think should really be supported in accordance with all the economic and social developments of the labor market", said Minister Manastirliu .

Speaking about the ranking of universities, Minister Manastirliu said that this is a new ranking, which also includes the countries of Western Europe, as she spoke about the need to move faster in the direction of scientific education and internationalization of universities.

The rector of the University of Tirana, Artan Hoxha, said that it is positive that Albanian universities are being ranked at the European level, as he spoke about more elaborate and modernized programs, within the framework of the developments that Albania has today, in the framework of the membership process in The European Union and the needs of society and the economy./ CNA
