The Tirana Municipal Council voted this Wednesday in favor of subsidizing urban transportation due to the high price of oil. This subsidy also includes intercity transportation.
The compensation provides for a value of 50 lek per liter of fuel for these transport companies for the months of March - April - May 2026.
The Urban Transport Association previously requested fuel compensation from the government, because according to them, the price increase made the cost of transportation unaffordable.
At the beginning of this year, the capital's bus fleet halved the number of buses, causing chaos and long queues for citizens at stations. /CNA
