The Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi, has announced that in the last 24 hours, 23 fires have been reported, of which 21 have been extinguished thanks to the continuous work of the civil emergency forces.

According to him, there are currently two active fires, one in the place called Agjioneri, in the municipality of Delvinë and another in the municipality of Dropull.

We thank for the maximum commitment 464 firefighters, dozens of Armed Forces, municipal forces, police forces, employees of the Administration of Protected Areas and the forest service, as well as the volunteer forces, who with tools, helped by the #Cougar helicopter and 2 #Canadairs provided by Greece worked diligently to put out the flames at extremely high temperatures," Peleshi announced./ CNA
