Safety at construction sites, IKMT fines and suspension of works for dozens of

The National Inspectorate of Territorial Protection has so far punished 65 entities with fines and decisions to suspend work, as part of measures to respect technical safety at construction sites.

According to official data, a total of 219 construction sites have been verified in the territory of the Municipality of Tirana, of which 41 are equipped with permits from the KKT and 178 with permits from local units.

After the re-inspection, violations were found at 45 construction sites, leading to the imposition of fines and the suspension of works.

In the Golem area, part of the Municipality of Kavaja, 73 entities were verified, where 8 of them were punished after violations were found.

Meanwhile, inspections have also begun in the Municipality of Vlora and Himara. In Vlora, 32 construction sites have been inspected and punitive measures have been imposed in 12 cases. In Himara, out of 71 entities planned for inspection, 14 have been inspected so far.

IKMT announces that the verification process will also continue in the Municipality of Durrës, in cooperation with the relevant institutions.

Authorities emphasize that respecting safety standards at construction sites remains a priority, while controls will be gradually extended throughout the country.

In the Golem area, part of the Municipality of Kavaja, a total of 73 entities were verified, of which 4 with permission from the KKT and 69 with permission from the local unit. After the re-inspection, 8 entities were fined and suspended.

IKMT inspections have also begun in the territory of the Municipality of Vlora and Himara. In Vlora, a total of 32 construction sites have been inspected so far, of which 11 sites are equipped with construction permits issued by the Municipality of Vlora and 21 sites with permits approved by the KKT. In 12 cases, fines have been imposed and decisions have been taken to suspend works.

In the territory of the Himara Municipality, there are a total of 71 entities equipped with permits approved by the KKT, which are scheduled to be inspected. Up to this stage, 14 entities have been inspected.

In collaboration with the AZT and IMT-Municipality of Durrës, IKMT plans to start the verification process also in the territory of the Municipality of Durrës.

"Compliance with legal obligations for technical safety at construction sites remains a primary objective of the National Inspectorate for Territorial Protection. In accordance with the work plan, controls will be gradually extended to the entire territory of the country," IKMT announces./ CNA
