Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha held a joint press conference with Izet Mexhiti, the leader of the Democratic Movement in North Macedonia and the mayor of the Municipality of Chair.

Hoxha was asked at the conference about the scandal of the publication of messages in which he referred to Albanians in North Macedonia as "idiots".

He did not state anything that the messages did not exist, but stated that these were developments from last week.

"You stayed last week, things have evolved. I have made all my explanations with all that has been claimed. And I wanted to use an expression 'This smoke rose and we saw it'. I am open to meeting at any time and in any circumstance, whether we agree or not, because there are disagreements in the family. There is no kind of interpretation on what is valid, what we discussed and what we will do. You stayed last week, they have been overcome. There is no smoke that can come between us.
