Security during the tourist season/ Balla, compliments of the police: Zero

The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, has appreciated the commitment of the police during the tourist season.

During his speech, Balla said that the safety of tourists this season was a very important test, from which our country was certified as a safe destination.

 He said that thanks to the work of the police, there have been no criminal incidents against the lives of foreign tourists.

" The best news of this year is not only the figure of 10 million (which we expect to close by December 31), but the international certification of our Albania as a European destination with natural beauty, unrivaled hospitality and impressive security.

Today we can say with our head held high and with pride that Albania's image tarnished by a heavy past of many years has been cleaned once and for all.

The safety of tourists in this historical tourist season was an important test as it certified our country as a safe tourist destination.

The practice of other countries that have gone through this process has been to increase tourist police units to help and protect tourists, because the police are undoubtedly an important part of the image of the tourist destination.

During this tourist season, over 1,600 police officers, almost 1/6 of our entire available police force, have served in tourist/beach areas. We should all keep in mind a fact, on which an even greater and deserved support for the State Police should be based, not only in terms of financial treatment. All this flow during 2023, with 30% more than the year before, has been handled by the same police force.

Deserved gratitude to all state police officers who enabled a tourist season with 0 criminal incidents, to the lives of foreign tourists who chose Albania to rest.
