Prime Minister Edi Rama today participated in a meeting of the Socialist Party Assembly in unit no. 3 in Tirana. Rama spoke about the process of integration into the European Union, where he said that fate has smiled on Albania.

"In our history, never has fate smiled on Albanians like now, never, never! For the first time, it is not only us who want to become part of the European Union, but it is also the European Union that will make us part of itself in reality, not in words. Because they have said it in words from day one: "We want you here, because you are like us, your future is here." It has been years and years since I have heard them say this; I had all my hair, I had black hair, and now you can see for yourself what is left. Now, they believe this, they want this and we have gained respect and trust. What does this mean? It means that we must use this time that we have now, as long as they have the door open," Rama said.

Among other things, he also spoke about the start of work for the upcoming elections, saying that the Socialist Party has always started preparations for the electoral process first. During his speech, he also ironized Lulzim Basha and the opposition.

"We must be aware of one thing that has come our way: that we make history here. This is history. Therefore, this process that we have started is certainly related to the start of work for the next elections, because we have always done this work. We have always started it in advance. Where are they now? Now, at this hour that we are talking, where are they? Are they sleeping, Luli is, but where are the others? They are in cafes, they are at home. They are certainly not having a meeting now on how we will organize ourselves ," Rama said. /CNA
