"War" with fires/ Demo: Bonus for firefighters will be distributed

The Minister of State for Local Government, Ervin Demo, held a press conference today. Demo spoke about the organization of local structures to deal with fires.

The Minister stated that there is an organization and an increase in capacities for air intervention. He also called on all citizens to show increased caution in relation to the environment, as he said that small incidents have brought major consequences.

Among other things, the government will come up with a support package for those on the front lines of fighting the fires. Demo announced that the firefighters' bonus, which is usually given at the end of the firefighting season, will be distributed within July.

"We are working to have the right organization regarding the fire season. The Ministry of Local Government will have a coordinating role regarding these situations."

There is an organization and increase in capacities for aerial intervention. During this period, every citizen must show caution in their relationship with the environment. We are focused on interaction between institutions and increasing capacities, but this year we will also come up with a support package for those who are on the front lines of dealing with the flames.

"The bonus that is usually given to firefighters at the end of the season will be proposed by the government to be distributed within July ," Demo said. /CNA
