The Special Parliamentary Committee "On Administrative-Territorial Reform in the Republic of Albania" is being held today.

In her speech, the deputy of the Socialist Party, Anila Denaj, stated that referring to the report, it turns out that 22 municipalities in the country are not serving the citizens today.

“22 bashki që nuk janë në shërbim të qytetarëve. Ky komision ka detyrë reformën territoriale të shkëputur nga lidershipi. Kur të shkojmë në propozime të mos e shohim sikur reforma territoriale mban të gjithë përgjegjësinë edhe të lidershipit, por ajo reformë të mos ketë kthim prapa dhe të mos jemi viktimë e një mungese efektiviteti. Duhet t’i lëmë ekspertët të diskutojnë më gjatë nëse pjesa financiare e atyre bashkive është ose jo derivat i reformës territoriale. Nuk është numri ai që determinon shërbimet për qytetarët”, tha Denaj.

Ndërkohë, bashkëkryetarja e Komisionit, Dhurata Çupi u ndal te propozimi për t’i ndarë bashkitë në vend në urbane dhe rurale, sipas një modeli që ndiqet nga vendet e rajonit dhe ndan prioritetet për zona të ndryshme.

"We should give different typologies to municipalities. In rural and urban as the region has. Or will we continue with this approach that we have today, that we only have urban municipalities, where we attach some rural areas, and the mayor remembers to go once in 5 years to see these areas. It's not a map issue and we shouldn't get complicated that one side sees the legal package and the other side seeks to bring the municipalities as close as possible to the citizens", said Çupi./ CNA.al
