The breakdown of the former police director/Nano: I had to fire many of my

Gladis Nano left the post of State Police Director on August 31. The news was made official by Interior Minister Blendi Çuçi after the government meeting.

According to Çuç, he left for failure to meet objectives, while this motive remains unbelievable until Nano himself has not spoken about the reason for leaving, except for a coded message he gave through a public letter.

Before leaving, Nano was "deconstructed" in an interview for the French Metropole channel, where he made strong statements about debunking information, at least on 14 occasions.

“Ka pasur rrjedhje të informacionit, mund të ketë ardhur nga vetë ato që kanë kryer investigimin ose nga ekipet operacionale”, ka thënë Nano në dokumentar duke shtuar se nuk dihej nga cilët persona vinte ky dekonspirim.

Megjithatë, në dokumentarin ku ai përshkruhet si “i hekurt”, shprehet se ka goditur fort mafian shqiptare.

"We targeted 32 and arrested 1, 2, 3, 4... Members of extremely violent gangs of drug trafficking and contract killings. There is a justice reform going on at the moment. Prosecutors and judges have been fired and we are doing the same with our police officers. This will take some time. For this reason, I had to sanction many of my colleagues in very high positions. They were fired. This is because if one day we want to integrate into the EU, we have to overturn some rules. One of these is the fight against corruption".

He made these statements while he was in office, but after his departure he remained silent, trampling with his feet the dignity that you mentioned in the public letter. /CNA.al
