General Prosecutor's Office Report: Around 70 thousand cases handled, over

A report published this Wednesday by the General Prosecutor's Office shows that in 2025, 66,333 criminal cases were handled by the prosecution body.

The volume of investigation, including transferred cases, registered cases, resumed cases and uninitiated cases, for 2025 according to prosecutors' offices is as follows:

The Prosecutor's Office at the Berat Court of First Instance has handled 1918 cases; 

The Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of Dibër has handled 1,533 cases; 

The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Durrës handled 6435 cases;

The Prosecutor's Office at the Elbasan Court of First Instance has handled 3618 cases; 

The Prosecutor's Office at the Fier Court of First Instance has handled 4,505 cases; 

The Prosecutor's Office at the Gjirokastra Court of First Instance has handled 1882 cases; 

The Prosecutor's Office at the Korça Court of First Instance has handled 4,862 cases; 

The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Kukes has handled 1368 cases; 

The Prosecutor's Office at the Lezha Court of First Instance has handled 2,459 cases; 

The Prosecutor's Office at the Saranda Court of First Instance has handled 3,381 cases; 

The Prosecutor's Office at the Shkodra Court of First Instance has handled 3285 cases; 

The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Tirana has handled 26,581 cases; 

The Prosecutor's Office at the Vlora Court of First Instance has handled 4,506 cases.

Also, according to the report, a total of 50,058 criminal proceedings were pursued last year, representing an increase of 5% compared to 2024.

According to the first instance prosecutors' offices, the number of criminal proceedings registered in 2025 is as follows: 

676 criminal proceedings have been registered at the Prosecutor's Office at the Berat Court of First Instance; 

644 criminal proceedings have been registered at the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of Dibër; 

2573 criminal proceedings have been registered at the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Durres; 

1511 criminal proceedings have been registered at the Prosecutor's Office at the Elbasan Court of First Instance;

1915 criminal proceedings have been registered at the Prosecutor's Office at the Fier Court of First Instance; 

774 criminal proceedings have been registered at the Prosecutor's Office at the Gjirokastra Court of First Instance; 

2023 criminal proceedings have been registered at the Prosecutor's Office at the Korça Court of First Instance; 

662 criminal proceedings have been registered at the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Kukes; 

1349 criminal proceedings have been registered at the Prosecutor's Office at the Lezha Court of First Instance; 

1145 criminal proceedings have been registered at the Prosecutor's Office at the Saranda Court of First Instance; 

1976 criminal proceedings have been registered at the Prosecutor's Office at the Shkodra Court of First Instance; 

9904 criminal proceedings have been registered at the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance in Tirana; 

1897 criminal proceedings have been registered at the Prosecutor's Office at the Vlora Court of First Instance. /CNA
