Complaints/Meta: The treatment conditions of pre-detainees are the same

The leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, after Klevis Balliu's visit to the "Jordan Misja" Penitentiary Institution, stated that the observed treatment conditions at "313" have the same problems as in other penitentiaries in the country.

In a reaction on social media, Meta underlined that the issues should be addressed not only to the Albanian Helsinki Committee, but also to other institutions.

"Gratitude to the Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Internal Affairs and Defense, MP of the Democratic Party, Mr. Klevis Balliu for his continued insistence on closely inspecting the treatment conditions at the "Jordan Misja" Penitentiary Institution."

I thank him for the inspection he made of all the premises of this institution, for the interest he expressed in getting to know the treatment and conditions of other detainees, as well as for the correct addressing of the problems identified, not only at the Albanian Helsinki Committee, but also at other institutions, because I believe that the conditions of treatment of detainees are the same throughout the country.

I particularly welcome Mr. Balliu's initiative to support the creation of a dignified library at the "Jordan Misja" Penitentiary Institution, where I will also be the first contributor.
