The Special Court has rejected the request of former minister Ilir Beqaj to leave the glass box during the hearings on the “SASPAC” file. For this file, the abuse of SASPAC funds, for which there is a security measure of “prison arrest”, Beqaj will remain inside the glass box.

In today's session, SPAK presented new evidence for the case. According to reports, prosecutors have submitted to the court several acts with data obtained from the examination of the laptop of one of the defendants in the case, Alfred Nikolla.

Meanwhile, a day earlier, the GJKKO approved his request for him to sit with his lawyer during the court session on the “Sterilization” file. For the “Sterilization” case, the former minister has a milder security measure, that of “compulsory appearance”.

In short, Ilir Beqaj is on trial with two cases at the GJKKO. One has a simple security measure, that is, an obligation to appear. The other has a security measure of arrest in prison.
