Agreement with "Fincantieri"/ Rama: The first two ships will be

Prime Minister Edi Rama delivered his speech at the signing ceremony of the agreement between "KAYO" and "Fincantieri" for shipbuilding at the Pashaliman shipyard. Rama stated that this agreement shows the will of the Italian government to strengthen the partnership between the two countries.

The head of government stated that the production of ships will begin at the Pashalimani shipyard, where the first two will be for the Albanian Armed Forces and then they will be produced for allied countries.

Among other things, Rama emphasized that this agreement is also for the benefit of students of the industrial school in Vlora, who will have the opportunity to participate in a training journey, will be accompanied by "Fincantieri" professionals and will be educated in their hometown just as if they were in Italy. 

"We have here the highest representatives of one of the largest companies in Europe, 'Fincantieri'. We also have a representative of the company 'Leonardo' and its president. These important partners represent the will of the Italian government to strengthen the partnership between our two countries."  

We have reached an important point for the future, of the country's own economy and the future of Albanian youth, an agreement with 'Fincantieri' to produce in the Pashaliman shipyard, sailing ships for the benefit of the Albanian army and allied countries. What makes this agreement special is that this agreement seeks to define a will and vision to accompany the change of shipyards with something new and special that will create an Italian-Albanian excellence. And it will serve for the innovation of the shipyard world.

This is also good news for the students of the Vlora Industrial School who will participate in a training journey to be participants in this new society of excellence in their hometown tomorrow. They will be accompanied on their journey by Fincantieri professionals and will be educated as in Italy.

We will be the first to benefit. From the first two ships that will be built for the Armed Forces and will bring the total number of our fleet to 7. Then the production will continue to export these ships where new technology and innovation will be implemented. It is something fantastic.

Interestingly, the first visit I made as the new prime minister was to the Fincantieri base in Italy, and before the board of directors of that period, I presented the Pashalimani shipyard, saying that it would be interesting to open a subsidiary of theirs there.

Today, times are different and have dictated this step of 'Fincantieri' towards our coast. A dream for Albania, the Armed Forces of Albania. I hope that the world will improve and wars will end, but also that Albania will adapt to have a dignified defense and everything needed to be at the height of a small but proud country in the transatlantic alliance to which we belong, that of NATO", Rama said. /CNA
