Rama before the EU-Western Balkans summit: Three things are unpredictable, God,

Prime Minister Edi Rama has commented on Albania's integration process ahead of the summit between the European Union and the Western Balkan countries taking place in Montenegro.

During his statement, Rama emphasized that arguments related to the risks of EU enlargement now belong to the past and called on member states to show more determination in relation to the accession process.

"The danger argument has passed, we have heard it. Many EU leaders have left, I am still here. The EU must have the courage to have a moment like Helmut Kohl's today. We do not tell children to stay with their neighbors until they are ready, but we keep them at home," Rama said.

Asked by journalists when Albania is expected to join the EU, the prime minister responded with humor, saying: "God, sex, and the European Union cannot be predicted."

Rama's statement comes at a time when the EU enlargement process and the European perspective of the Western Balkan countries remain the focus of discussions among European and regional leaders./CNA
