The Management Plan for Vjosa Park has been prepared for public consultation.

The news was announced by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who announced that the public consultation will be held on May 22 and 23.

He emphasizes that the public hearings will take place in Fier, Vlorë and Gjirokastër, while he qualifies this as an important step in the protection of the Vjosa river.

"We take another important step in the protection of the Vjosa River, the last wild river in Europe, where the Management Plan for the National Park has already been drawn up as a careful and intensive work by the National Agency of Protected Areas and international experts IUCN, being READY to consult in PUBLIC.

It is the turn of the local communities, those who live there and will be the first to enjoy the fruits of the new park, to join the voice in the plan for the management of Vjosa, which is protected as a National Park on 480 km of river line, on 12,000 hectares of surface, with its three branches, from the entrance to the territory of Albania to the estuary... and for all those who blow smoke without fire that the estuary of Vjosa is left outside the protection limits, the opposite is true, that it is twofold Protected Area as part of the Vjosa River National Park and as part of the Pishë Poro-Nartë Protected Landscape for its exceptional natural importance.
