Five members of the criminal gangs appeared today before the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime for arrest measures. 

GJKKO confirmed the "prison arrest" measure for Besia Xixha, Enver Diva, Gjergj Cukali and Albert Zaja.

As for Emiljano Shullazi, the decision was postponed until 14:00 as the lawyer did not appear.

Despite the fact that the court appointed state attorney Artan Simoni, the latter has stated that he cannot defend Shullazi because in another proceeding he defends Luftar Reçi, who accuses Shullazi of murder.

Meanwhile, a day ago, 9 other members were arrested in prison with the security measure. 

Naim Stafuka, Armando Ndreca, Robert Laçi, Viktor Imeraj, Satilno Basho, Deivis Bajramaj, Drianto Bardhi, Miri Bruli and Blerim Abazi were left in prison.

They were discovered by the decryption of the conversations in "SkyECC", but the lawyers asked that the arrest not be considered legal with the claim that it is not proven whose number is used to use this application.

But the conversations in "SkyECC" revealed the cooperation of criminal groups, which had planned several assassinations.

We remind you that the operation led by SPAK and agreed with Europol on May 17, 2024, lasted for about 20 hours, where approximately 30 BKH investigators were engaged, RENEA forces, State Police, as well as Europol, which appointed an Officer at SPAK to support this operation.

Investigative actions were carried out in the cities of Tirana, Durres, Vlora, Shkodra, Lezha, Rreshen, Kurbin, Fushë-Kruja and Kruja. During these investigative actions, checks were carried out in about 50 residential premises.

During the execution of court decisions, property with an approximate value of over 4.5 million euros was found and seized as material evidence./ CNA
