The General Directorate of Archives has published a letter from Teki Selencia, where it is said that Vlora had fallen into the hands of the Italian invaders.

The event coincides with December 25, 1914.

 "Have you heard about the invasion by Italy? How long will this military occupation continue? If there is something that is not known, it is that Italy will not be satisfied with that." - is written in this letter of Teki Selenica addressed to his father, Mehmet Emin.

After the expansion of the Italian occupation, resistance against the invaders began. After the Congress of Lushnja (1920), the "National Defense" Committee was created, headed by Osman Haxhiu, who organized the fighting forces in the Battle of Vlora, one of the most glorious pages in the history of Albanian battles.

During the Second World War, Vlora became one of the important foci of the National Liberation Antifascist Movement against the Nazi fascist invaders./ CNA.al
