The police of Tirana has issued an official announcement regarding the protest that will take place today in front of the institution of the municipality. 

The blue uniforms indicate that there will be blockages of some road segments, as well as partial blockages of some other segments depending on the movement of the pilgrims.

"We inform the citizens that today, from 09:30 until the end, there will be a temporary traffic jam on the main boulevard near the Municipality of Tirana. The police appeals to all citizens to avoid moving on these roads and to use alternative routes, until the end of the rally, such as the Middle Ring and the Great Ring", the announcement states. 

The protests in front of this municipality are taking place because of the scandals that happened in this institution, such as the incinerator affair and the "5D" file, where a number of directors were arrested after SPAK investigations.

Even Veliaj himself was questioned by SPAK about the incinerator affair, while the court issued other security measures a few days ago, by order of the special prosecutor.

Tensions and clashes with the police have not been missing in recent protests, as protesters have tried to enter the municipality building.

Flares and gasoline bottles were also thrown, as well as tires were burned. Members of the opposition in the Municipal Council of Tirana were not allowed to enter the institution of the municipality./ CNA
